Sir Bobby Robson last night described the arrival of Patrick Kluivert at Newcastle United as the biggest coup for the club since they brought Alan Shearer home eight years ago.

Kluivert has signed a three-year contract, thought to be worth pounds 67,000 a week, at St James's Park after Barcelona terminated the final year of his deal.
