Fletcher High School students can receive their textbooks, ID badges and locker assignments during upcoming "walk-throughs."

Students must report at the assigned times. There is no benefit to early arrival. Late arrivals cannot be processed. There is no make-up day. Failure to attend walk-through will result in long waits in lines at the beginning of the school year, school officials said.

Here are the assigned times:

Tuesday -- 8 a.m., seniors (A-L); 9:30 a.m., seniors (M-Z); noon, juniors (A-L); 1:30 p.m., juniors (M-Z).

Wednesday, July 28 -- 8 a.m., sophomores (A-L); 9:30 a.m., sophomores (M-Z); 1 p.m., freshmen (A-F); 2:30 p.m., freshmen (G-I)

Thursday, July 29 -- 8 a.m., freshmen (J-L); 9:30 a.m., freshmen (M-O); 12:30 p.m., freshmen (P-S); 2 p.m., freshmen (T-Z).

Students will receive their ID badge, schedule, locker and books and can prepay any class equipment/supply fees. Locker rental is $5. All students are required to have a locker.

Students may send an adult with a note and photo ID to handle the walk-through. If out of town, or otherwise unable to attend at the designated time, students will be processed at a specified time. Students who have never had their ID picture taken will have it taken in the auditorium upon arrival. Students who have obligations to the school will not receive anything but an ID badge until the obligation is satisfied. Personal checks are not accepted for obligations.

Betty Ann Frederick, who has been manager of the Ponte Vedra Beach branch library for the past five years, has been named St. Johns County's assistant library system director.

She's scheduled to begin orientation in library administration starting Aug. 2 and starts in her new job Aug. 23, said Mary Jane Little, county library system director.

County library officials said they'll soon begin looking for a replacement for Frederick in the Ponte Vedra Beach position.

"Rest assured we know how very, very important filling Betty's position is for our organization," Little said in a memo to library employees. …
