MICAH'S COFFEE

Micah's Place will sponsor "Growing Together," an information coffee for west Nassau County residents wanting to bring hope, help and healing to the victims of domestic violence on the west side of the county, at 6:30 p.m., Thursday at the Lions Club Building in Callahan.

DAR SEMINAR

The Amelia Island Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a seminar for new and prospective members at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, in the community room at First Coast Community Bank on 14th Street.

HOSPICE TRAINING

Community Hospice of Northeast Florida will have a two-day volunteer training from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 25 at its Yulee office, 1870 A State Road 200, across from Yulee Elementary School.

Volunteer opportunities include assisting with patient and family needs, helping in the hospice office, volunteering at exhibitions or participating in the speakers bureau.

Monthly meetings of the Nassau County Moms of Preschoolers, or MOPS, will begin in August.

YOUTH COALITION

The Nassau County Youth Coalition, an organization formed to lobby local politicians for the interests of youths in the county, is interested in banding together with other youth organizations.

CAR CLEANUP

Keep Nassau Beautiful and the Westside Democratic Club of Nassau County have teamed up to help people get rid of unwanted vehicles.

Through December, those who want a vehicle removed from their property can call 548-0162, 879-6911 or 704-4042.

FREE SMOKE DETECTORS

Nassau County Fire Rescue has received 100 smoke detectors that firefighters will install and test for free in at-risk homes.
