Zepherinus Joseph had one last stop before going to the Olympics.

The former University of North Florida Division II All-American won all three races of the Tour de Pain on Friday night and Saturday to take home the $200 first-place prize before his trip to Athens, Greece, planned for this morning.

"I need spending money for Europe," Joseph joked while interacting with other Tour de Pain participants, who were wishing him good luck for Athens.

He will compete in the marathon for St. Lucia, a Caribbean island nation north of Trinidad and Tobago.

The 28-year-old won the 5K in 14 minutes, 55 seconds at The Jacksonville Landing on Saturday night, the last in his sweep of the three-race series with about 700 participants.

He said he wasn't concerned about getting injured before the Summer Games.

"It's just 8 miles. I really wasn't worried," he said. "I was more worried about getting beat. …
