Mr. Al Green, uhh, the reverend, uhh, he who is famed for being the last great Southern soul singer, plays the Times-Union Center on Friday, Sept. 10. (Ticket information was not available at press time.) Jessica Simpson and her uh-mazing legs are back Thursday, Sept. 9, at Metro Park, as part of the NFL Opening Kickoff. That is a free show. And hopefully, if the kitchen doesn't get too hot, or if, well, Eddie Van Halen doesn't fire him, Sammy Hagar will lead Van Halen into the arena on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Jars of Clay, who made the Christian rock world whole in the '90s, play the arena Saturday, Oct. 2.

And Moveon.org, the partisan organization bent on getting "Dubya" out of office, is bringing in blues legend Bonnie Raitt and Keb' Mo on Friday, Oct. 8, as part of the Vote for Change tour. No ticket prices or venue have been announced. Bo Didley plays the Florida Theatre the next day (Saturday, Oct. 9).

And, drum rolls and fanfare, please: El Vez, the Mexican Elvis, is playing Jack Rabbits Thursday, Oct. …
