A Teesside building firm is investing pounds 100,000 into a new venture that will initially bring eight new jobs and benefit local contractors.

Mark Dalzell, managing director of Stockton-based CJM Building Property Services, expects the company to be employing 20 people within 18 months.

And he is already planning another, eco-friendly, company which will employ around 12 people.

CJM Window Systems, which operates from Durham Lane Industrial Estate, Eaglescliffe, was officially opened by Councillors Jean Denny and Bob Gibson, Mayor and leader respectively of Stockton Council.

Mark said of the timber manufacturing and bespoke joinery business: "I got the idea from Stockton Council homes partner, Tristar Homes, which was bemoaning the fact that it did not have a window supplier on the doorstep, the nearest being West Yorkshire.

"We went for timber rather than uPVC because more people are now realising that wood, being bio-degradable, is more eco-friendly and lasts longer. …
