Bedlington's joint manager Keith Perry has followed his brother and club chairman David through the exit door at Welfare Park.

Keith, with the Albany Northern League club for 11 years, confirmed today that he and David have quit with `heavy hearts'.

Keith said: "I don't want to say too much at this stage, but it is true that we are no longer involved at the club."

Tony Lowery looks set to be in charge of the squad tonight when Bedlington entertain Durham City.

Whitley Bay, already pushing for honours in the top flight of the ANL, travel to Peterlee while Newcastle Blue Star are in second division action at Hebburn and West Allotment Celtic chase points at Willington.

Gateshead defender Ben Cattanach could play his first game of the season tonight when the Tynesiders bid for UniBond League Premier Division points at Whitby.

But new striker Paul Taylor has aggravated a hip injury and is doubtful.

Cattanach has been suffering from groin trouble, but manager Alan Bell is `fairly optimistic' about his chances of playing tonight. …
