Police Briefs; Man Charged in Aggravated Battery

A 33-year-old man was arrested at noon Aug. 26 in the 11500 block of Ashley Manor Way and charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief.

Witnesses told police the man attacked a 30-year-old woman at her residence, pushing her into a door casing and breaking her left arm.

The man also threw a stool through two French doors, shattering them and causing $1,500 in damage, according to a police report. He also damaged walls and the floor of the residence, the report said.

-- The vice president of Rondette Park, 3550 Rondette Lake Road, told police the park's concession stand was burglarized between 10 a.m. Aug. 27 and 9 a.m. Monday.

Several cases of soda and 20 cases of candy were taken, according to a police report. There was also damage to a park sign and electrical boxes, the report said.

Police said the park vice president told them the door locks were found on nearby bleachers and that she thought the locks had been picked. …
