Those looking to serve others and help themselves at the same time may want to consider teaming up with the North Florida Health Corps.

The AmeriCorps initiative, which is administered by the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida and directed by the Duval County Health Department Maternal and Child Health Division, provides members with full-time service opportunities in community agencies that address the health and human service needs of underserved communities.

In return, members receive a living allowance, extensive training, health coverage, child care and, upon successful completion, a $4,725 educational award.
