A children's nursery is set to be moved from one side of a school field to another.

Stockton Council's planning committee approved plans to relocate the bright blue portable building that brought misery to new homeowners in Ingleby Barwick.

The nursery, in the grounds of St Francis of Assisi Church of England Primary School, will also be painted a sandy colour to match the school building and be surrounded by landscaping, including high trees and bushes.

In April the Gazette reported how a blunder by planners resulted in the nursery - which is owned by D&L Childcare Ltd - being sited near to homes without any consultation with residents.

Following urgent meetings, it was agreed to have the premises moved to the perimeter of the school along Lowfields Avenue.

Brian Cowan, of Homestead Garth, objected to the relocation on the grounds it looked over his garden.
