Yajbill can complete a hat-trick with victory in the Averti Conditions Stakes at Salisbury today.

Mick Channon's two-year-old has been in cracking form lately and he seems to be improving after opening his account in good style at Brighton last month at the fifth time of asking.

Yajbill had been placed on each of his four previous starts, but a first-time visor seemed to work the oracle at Brighton where he beat Oligarch a neck over six furlongs.

The son of Royal Applause subsequently followed up in a competitive handicap at Epsom, displaying a stylish turn of foot after making much of his own running to beat Elisha by an impressive five lengths.

This is obviously a move up in class from nursery level but the decision of the colt's connections not to tackle the valuable Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar on Saturday can pay off. Henry Candy has a really smart juvenile in Caesar Beware and although Palatinate is nowhere near that standard, he should have enough in the locker for the Portway EBF Novice Stakes. …
