Make Sure Your Voice Is Heard

The opposing sides battling for your vote in the regional assembly referendum will go head to head in a public debate next week.

Professor John Tomaney, chairman of the Yes4TheNorth-East campaign, and North-East Says No chairman John Elliott head the line-up in the first Journal Regional Assembly Debate.

The Journal, in association with networking company The Bridge Club, has organised a series of Regional Assembly Debates where readers can put questions to leading members of both campaigns.

The first takes place at Newcastle University's Curtis Auditorium on Tuesday. This will be followed by events in Hexham on October 13, Durham on October 19 and Alnwick on October 26. All the events are open to the public. At Tuesday's event in Newcastle Prof Tomaney will be joined by fellow `Yes' campaigner Joe Docherty, chief executive of Tees Valley Regeneration.

John Elliott will be supported by NESNO spokesman Graham Robb.
