Reid, Robinson Provide Big Plays; Second-Team Receivers Come through for Florida State in the Second Half

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Florida State was in the process of writing its own title-killing recipe for defeat Saturday at Wake Forest, when second-team receivers Willie Reid and Dominic Robinson threw the game-changing ingredients into the mix.

Trailing 14-3 early in the third quarter, Reid's 48-yard punt return to the Wake Forest 14 provided the Seminoles a much-needed momentum swing.

"It was big," FSU coach Bobby Bowden said. "We needed some kind of big play. We needed some kind of momentum."

Reid had been listening at the half, as the coaching staff challenged the players to step up.

"At halftime coaches were telling us to keep fighting, keep battling," Reid said. "That's what we did. We knew we would win, it was just a matter of how we were going to win."

Reid's return provided the first part of the how.

"It was a big momentum change. It gave our offense good field position," Reid said. …
