E-Fit Clue to Suspect in BBC Librarian's Murder

THIS is the first image of the man police are seeking in connection with the murder of BBC librarian Tom Brown.

The 27-year-old was stabbed to death in Southgate in August. He was on his way home from a night out with friends when the killer struck.

Detectives investigating the case today issued an E-fit of a man believed to have been in the area when the murder took place.

Several witnesses have spoken of a man seen near the crime scene with a female friend. Police have now released this image in an effort to track him down.

He is described as in his late twenties, white, of slim build with short brown hair and a gaunt-looking face. Police say he is "scruffy in appearance" and was wearing a grey or beige tracksuit with a hood.

The woman he was with is in her late twenties, of slim build and about 5ft 4in. She has shoulder-length, curly black hair and a deep tan, and wore a three-quarter length leather coat.

Mr Brown was stabbed at about 3am on 21 August in Southgate High Street. …
