Three Under-11 League Cup quarter-finals were played ( and all resulted in away wins.

Surprise result was the defeat of league leaders FC Morpeth Santos, who were beaten 6-2 by Percy Main Tyne.

The other two games went with form as Prudhoe YC notched five without reply at Cullercoats while FC Amble put out Seaton Burn 3-2.

In league action, Cramlington Blue Star closed the gap at the top to just goal difference with a win over FC Morpeth Porto.

Morpeth Town moved up to fifth with a 3-2 success at Wallsend Town while Hexham secured their second win of the campaign as they struck four without conceding against Blyth Rangers.

A penalty shoot-out was needed to decide the result of the Under-12 League Cup quarter-final between Spittal Rovers and Willington Quay and Howdon BC.

The tie ended 4-4 after extra time but it was the Wallsend outfit who claimed a semi-final spot with a 5-4 victory in the resulting shoot-out.

With Spittal in cup action, FC Morpeth extended their lead at the top to three points with a 2-1 win over Prudhoe YC.

Unbeaten Willington Quay Saints moved up into second spot after an untroubled clash with Marden, while Berwick Rangers climbed to fourth with victory over Percy Main Tyne.

The two other games saw sides claim their second wins of the season.

Cramlington Blue Star won 3-2 at Morpeth Town while Wallsend Town struck four without reply at Seaton Burn.

At under-15 level, league leaders Prudhoe YC saw their unbeaten record disappear when they lost 5-4 at Hexham.

The other league game in this division saw FC Amble secure their second win of the season, a solitary strike enough to claim the points against Morpeth Town.

Two matches were also played in the League Cup at this age group. Wallsend Town knocked out Blyth Magpies while Berwick Rangers reached the last four with a 3-1 beating of Stocksfield.
