WHAT WENT RIGHT

UF got big plays from its defense: Florida picked off four passes -- including two by former Fletcher High School standout Kyle Jackson -- and harassed S.C. quarterbacks all night. The Gators had three sacks.

The Gators never let up: The jokes were likely coming fast and furious about UF's impending fourth-quarter collapse after building a 34-7 lead, but UF kept playing aggressively on offense and defense and didn't let Carolina back in the game. In fact, UF threw deep in the fourth quarter.

Leak kept throwing and throwing: Quarterback Chris Leak threw six touchdown passes, a career high and the single-game high in the SEC this season. Leak threw two in the fourth quarter -- a 61-yarder to Andre Caldwell and a 39-yarder to Dallas Baker. Danny Wuerffel was the last UF quarterback to throw for six touchdowns against an SEC team.

WHAT WENT WRONG

The running game bogged down: The Gators had little room to run against a South Carolina defense that was clearly concentrating on stopping Ciatrick Fason. …
