These are the latest spoils in the war against drugs criminals on Tyneside.

Police have arrested 30 people in a series of raids and 16 properties in Byker, Walker and Walkergate in Newcastle were searched.

Officers recovered drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, with an estimated value of pounds 16,000 and more than pounds 3,000 in cash.

They also seized pounds 1,000 of stolen property including a motorcycle, a sizeable quantity of counterfeit goods and a CD/DVD copying machine.

Suspects were arrested for a variety of offences including, possession and possession with intent to supply illegal drugs, handling stolen goods and theft of motor vehicles.

The cash, drugs and goods were recovered as part of Operation Lace which ran for five weeks between November and New Year's Eve. Outer East Community Beat Managers (CBM's), worked with the LIFE Project (Local Initiatives For the EastEnd) on the operation. …
