Susan Embleton is the rehoming manager at the Dogs Trust in Sadberge.

She tells us about two of her own pets.

What pets do you have?

I have three springer spaniels and a cat but have chosen two to tell you about, my dog Quill and cat Minnie.

Where did you get them?

Minnie was found on the roof of a garage about ten years ago. Quill was bred by my partner six years ago. He gets his name from birds' feathers.

What is the funniest thing your pet has ever done?

A live field mouse was brought in by the spaniel. It took us a while to realise the dog was carrying anything but finally we spotted a little grey tail popping out of his mouth. He let it go in the kitchen and it took a surprising amount of time for us to catch.

Any yucky pet moments?

Quill absolutely adores water and so when he's out he will jump in any muddy puddles. He seems happiest when soaking wet and plastered in mud. …
