WEST END THEATRES IN MAJOR SELL-OFF; Lloyd Webber Talks to Bidder

ANDREW Lloyd Webber is in negotiations to sell at least four of his 11 West End theatres, the Evening Standard can reveal.

According to sources, Lord Lloyd-Webber's representative is discussing a deal to sell the Duchess, Apollo, Garrick and Lyric theatres to a mystery buyer.

He has appointed entertainment dealmaker Patrick McKenna to oversee negotiations. Lord Lloyd-Webber may then sell off his seven other theatres; the Palladium, the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the Cambridge, Her Majesty's, the Palace, the New London and the Adelphi.

A sell-off would radically redraw the map of the West End's theatreland, but sources close to Lord Lloyd-Webber stressed no deal had yet been struck.

His spokesman told the Standard: "Andrew Lloyd Webber has received an enquiry in relation to the acquisition of some parts of his businesses.
