Police Briefs; Man Arrested in Incident over Visitation

A 42-year-old man was arrested at 12:10 a.m. Jan. 12 in the 5600 block of Edenfield Road and charged with burglary, battery and driving with a suspended license.

A police officer investigating a dispute said when he arrived at the scene a 34-year-old woman screamed for him to stop a car leaving an apartment complex parking lot.

The officer said the suspect was driving with a suspended license and was "extremely sweaty and appeared out of breath."

The woman and her 4-year-old daughter told police the man, the girl's father, had kicked in the door to the apartment, took all the phones in the apartment and the woman's purse and locked them in his car.

The woman said he called in the late evening and said he was coming to see his daughter for visitation. When the woman said it was too late, the man said he was coming anyway, according to a police report.

The woman and the girl told police the man insisted the girl go get something to eat with him. …
