Oasis are on the comeback train, with a pair of Toon gigs lined up, as Showbusiness Reporter Gordon Barr reveals

Rock giants Oasis are to play two summer shows in Newcastle, it was announced today.

Noel, Liam and the boys will perform at the Metro Radio Arena on July 12 and 13, almost three years to the day since they last appeared there.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Saturday and are likely to be snapped up.

The group have already sold out three nights at the City of Manchester Stadium, as well as two nights at Milton Keynes National Bowl plus shows at Hampden Park, Glasgow and Southampton Rose Bowl.

Demand for tickets was so great they decided to add two Newcastle gigs to the tour, which will follow the release of the band's new album in the spring. The last time tickets went on sale for Oasis in the Toon, they sold out in 30 minutes, breaking the record previously set by Kylie by 15 minutes.

Arena bosses are urging Oasis followers to book tickets, at pounds 32. …
