ORGANISERS of tonight's Brit Awards are hoping troubled singer Pete Doherty will stay away from the glittering ceremony and instead choose to go into rehab in a bid to rebuild his life for girlfriend Kate Moss.

Doherty is on the guest list for the awards. He is due to attend a drug rehabilitation centre today and other bail conditions require him to observe a 10pm-7am curfew. But Doherty's erratic behaviour in recent months has made him hard to predict.

He said the thought of Moss kept him going while he spent six nights in Pentonville Prison.

Doherty was among murderers and paedophiles in the prison's A wing and confessed he thought he was "going to die" - but says he made it because of Moss.

The 25-year-old singer has been charged with blackmail and robbery following an incident with filmmaker Max Carlish at the Rookery Hotel in Clerkenwell.

Speaking about the night of the incident, Doherty, who had a room in the hotel, said: "One minute I'm waiting for Kate to arrive to join me in the Jacuzzi for a romantic evening. …
