I live in Grove Hill and, as anyone knows in Middlesbrough, it is not what you might say the nicest or quietest place to live.

I have lived here for many years and have seen my fair share of so-called Government solutions to solving the problems of our estate. They have come and gone and no good has been done except to waste a lot of the taxpayers' money.

However I have to say, not only in Grove Hill but all over the town, we seem to have the best idea possible with what seems to be a very cheap way of solving all the problems - the street wardens.

I must say since the wardens have come on the estate things have improved better than at any time I have known.

They will talk to you face to face, they are not a voice on the end of the phone like the police, and if they say they will turn up they do, and do not leave until the problem is fixed. …
