PHILADELPHIA EAGLES NOTEBOOK; Reid Is McNabb Backer

Don't include Eagles coach Andy Reid on the list of people who think quarterbacks have to win a Super Bowl to be included on the list of all-time greats.
"I know some people perceive it that way, but the fact that [Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and Patriots counterpart Tom Brady] are here says something about them already. They're both at the top of their games. I think they're both great quarterbacks, win or lose this game."
Brady already has won two Super Bowl rings, but McNabb -- the NFL's No. 2 overall pick in 1999 -- is making his first appearance.
SIMON: ALLTEL TO BE LIKE HOME
More than 20 years of pent-up frustration on the part of Philadelphia fans is convincing Corey Simon that Alltel Stadium will feel and sound quite familiar to his Eagles teammates.
Simon, Philadelphia's veteran defensive tackle, said he expects to see a lot of green in the stands in light of the Eagles' first Super Bowl trip since 1981.
"I know it will be crazy," Simon said Thursday. "When you walk into Lincoln Financial Field [the Eagles' home field], it's always crazy. I expect that, with the Philadelphia fans having to wait so long for this, it's going to feel like a home game for us."
