Best buddies Vinnie and Stanley have finally found themselves a farm to call home.

The unusual pair appeared in the Gazette after they were taken in by the RSPCA's Great Ayton rehoming centre.

Vinnie, a goat, and Stanley, a cockerel, formed a firm friendship at the centre.

Cattery supervisor Karen Loadwick says Vinnie was used to having the company of another goat. "When he came here the only way we could stop him from trying to get to the dogs was to put the cockerel in the barn with him for company," she says.

The duo then became a trio when another goat, Milly, was picked up as a stray on a building site. Now all three have been offered a home by Tweddle Petting Farm in Black Colliery, Hartlepool.

Owner Denise Wayman says: "We open during the summer and at weekends and the kids come here to pet the animals and feed them.

"The two goats and cockerel have made a great addition because they are really tame. …
