Everyone thinks their mum is the best in the world but the Crockett children from Middlesbrough put pen to paper to tell the whole of Teesside.

Alisha, 11, wrote a lovely letter to the Gazette with the help of sister Laura, 13, and brother Thomas, ten.

Alisha wrote: "I know everyone thinks their mam's special but mine is. My mam puts everyone first.

The youngsters call their mum Agony Aunt because "she is there to try to solve everyone's problems".

"I never wear skirts or dresses but these look really nice. I would wear the black and white top with black trousers instead but I really like it.

"The day has been wonderful, we have all really enjoyed it, thank you!"

First stop for the makeover was Chintz hair salon in Middlesbrough.

The team promised Alison a new look with a style that would be easy to manage.

Stylist Jemma Gill used an all-over chocolate colour on Alison's hair and then added red/maroon lowlights.

She thinned the hair out and flicked it out on top to give it a funkier edge.

Laura and Alisha had their hair blowdried and straightened, while Thomas had his hair spiked up. …
