Clive Owen & Co, the Durham-based firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, has promoted ANGUS ALLAN to partner.

This brings the total to eight partners across its three offices in Darlington, Durham and York. He joined the practice as corporate finance director two years ago and since then has been involved in over 30 client deals, including acquisitions, disposals and management buy-outs.

Royal Quays outlet shopping village has made a key appointment to strengthen its management team. Following the promotion of Judith Ramshaw to centre manager in January this year, STEPHEN BROWNE has just been appointed as deputy centre manager of the outlet shopping village in North Shields.

Stephen Browne comes to the village with over six years' experience in retail management; and has worked in managerial positions for various big retail names including The Co-operative Group and Iceland stores.

Newcastle-based insurance brokers Bishop Skinner has strengthened its board of directors with two new appointments.

SCOTT KINNAIRD, 39, who joined Bishop Skinner in 1986 and was appointed an associate director six years ago, moves up to full membership of the board. JOHN NOONE, 40, a senior account executive who has been 10 years with the company, becomes an associate director.

Newcastle-based Mike Lynch Advertising has recently appointed JULIE PURVIS as media executive to cater for a rapidly expanding portfolio of clients. Julie, from Crawcrook, has nearly five years experience in the media sector.

Redcar Racecourse has underlined its determination to expand and develop its operations ( both as a major sporting venue and in wider business fields ( with the announcement that NEIL ETHERINGTON is to become its new chief executive from early June 2005. During his time as chief executive of the Tees Valley Development Company and more recently as strategic investment and marketing director with Tees Valley Regeneration, Neil Etherington has played a key role in bringing new jobs and investment into the area. …
