Gerrard Hints at Snub to Chelsea

STEVEN GERRARD today gave his strongest hint yet that Liverpool's European Cup glory run might convince him to stay at Anfield.

Speaking after last night's 1-0 semi-final win over Chelsea booked Liverpool's place in the final, Gerrard said he was planning to sit down with the club after that game on 25 May to discuss his future.

The England midfielder was believed to be on his way to Chelsea in a [pounds sterling] 30million move this summer.

Speculation was so intense at one point that it was rumoured he had agreed to buy two houses in London.

But, as with last year when Gerrard changed his mind on a switch to Stamford Bridge at the last minute, it now looks like he might stay at Liverpool.

Gerrard has insisted all along that he wanted to see how Liverpool's season developed before deciding on whether to jump ship and join Chelsea.
