Fugitive Sweep Nets 11 Arrests for Clay County; Effort Is Part of Operation Falcon, a National Dragnet Involving Several Agencies

Eleven fugitives from Clay County's justice system -- including murder suspect Chris Deming -- were arrested during Operation Falcon (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally), the effort that netted 10,343 apprehensions throughout the country recently.

A total of 69 were arrested from the North Florida area in the weeklong dragnet which lasted from April 4 to 10, and which coincided with National Crime Victims' Rights Week, records show.

Area members of the task force that worked with the U.S. Marshals, which coordinated the event, include a representative of the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Naval Criminal Investigation Service and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
