A technician from Newcastle's Centre for Life has been sacked in a probe over alleged child porn pictures.

Paul Taylor faces six charges of making an indecent photograph of a child and another count of possessing an indecent photograph of a youngster after being arrested and charged by police.

The alleged offences took place between September 2003 and November 2004.

Mr Taylor, 23, of Sceptre Place, Newcastle, had worked at the centre as a technician from September 1, 2003.

A spokesman at the Centre for Life confirmed Mr Taylor lost his job yesterday.

The spokesman added the alleged images were not contained on his work computer.

Mr Taylor's sacking followed an earlier suspension which was imposed after he was charged.

He is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court, on May 16, for a plea and directions hearing.

The spokesman at the Centre for Life said: "The Centre can confirm that Paul Taylor, until his dismissal, was employed as a technician. …
