A Tees Valley company is providing vital take-off and landing safety services for airports in Spain this summer.

Flight Precision, which is based at Durham Tees Valley Airport, has obtained an order from the Spain's National Air Navigation Service Provider, AENA.

It has worked with AENA in an advisory capacity since 1999 but this order marks a major change in what tasks Flight Precision will be able to conduct in Spain.

Flight Precision has commissioned two radio navigation beacons near Barcelona and is also undertaking arrival and departure procedure evaluation tasks associated with the Terminal Airspace reorganisation in that area of Spain.

This work has been carried out along with additional routine tasks on other landing and area navigation installations at Madrid and Vitoria.

Extra work might also be in the offing as AENA makes airspace changes in other areas of the country.
