A Teesside legal trainee has become one of the first in the region to pass a new set of exams.

Immigration supervisor and unit manager Jo Russell has passed the essential new exams in her profession.

The 27-year-old works for Dobermans, which is a division of Crutes Law Firm, in the immigration department of the Teesside firm, handling asylum claims and other immigration issues for clients.

Her role at Dobermans, in Middlesbrough, involves processing applications for asylum and a variety of other associated work such as advising clients on how best to proceed with their applications.

Jo said: "It's a very varied and challenging role, and one I enjoy a great deal. I am delighted to have completed these exams and am looking forward to developing my career in what is an interesting and increasingly important area of the law."
