When Roger Clegg was made redundant four years ago, he looked on it as a golden opportunity to pursue his passion for photography.

Now, the 58-year-old from Battle Hill, Hexham, has opened his first exhibition.

The father-of-one grown up son, who is married to Lin, also 58, a retired teacher, specialises in atmospheric landscape shots of Hadrian's Wall and the countryside surrounding it.

He was made redundant from his job as a business consultant four years ago. "After that, I had a complete rethink about life," he said yesterday.

"That's when I decided to try to make something I had been passionate about for 35 years into a living."

Since then, Roger has secured work with English Heritage, Tynedale Council, Hadrian's Wall Tourism Partnership and One NorthEast.

But the display in the museum at English Heritage's Corbridge Roman Site is the first time his work has been exhibited in such a way.
