Radio times are a-changing at a Teesside hospital thanks to a transatlantic bridal swap.

While Keith Kleinfeldt has arrived from Washington DC to marry his Teesside partner, fellow Southside Radio volunteer Ross Bowring has made the return journey across the pond to live with his American wife.

The two met up at the hospital radio station after Keith, an American DJ with seven years' experience, volunteered his services as he can't work in this country until he is married to his Guisborough-born partner Emma Algie.

Keith, 28, and Emma, 33, met at a Britpop disco in the American capital in February 2001.

The couple will be married at Gisborough Hall at the end of the month before Keith begins looking for work in the British radio industry.

He said: "I was a broadcaster and decided that I wanted to continue that over here if I could. I heard that hospital radios are a great way of breaking into it.

"It was a funny coincidence that Ross is married to an American girl and lives just outside Philadelphia. …
