A wealth of homegrown Teesside talent and bands from across the globe wowed the crowds at the sixth Middlesbrough Music Live.

Thousands of revellers descended on venues throughout the town centre, under sunny skies and soaring temperatures.

Afternoon downpours failed to deter music fans at yesterday's event organised by Middlesbrough Council.

Headline band The Thrills were joined by Stockton's own Exit by Name, Berlin-based trio Chicks on Speed and Scottish twins The Proclaimers to name but a few.

Organiser Graham Ramsay, whose company Ten Feet Tall books the bands, said it had been the best ever.

He said: "This festival is about showcasing every band on each stage and people have really got into the spirit of that."

And even the heavy rain failed to dampen revellers' spirits. "A few people left but an awful lot stayed and enjoyed themselves in the warm rain," he said.
