A heroin addict turned to credit card fraud just days after being given a chance by a court to keep her freedom.

Victoria Dawson twice used a stolen NatWest card to buy cigarettes and alcohol worth a total of pounds 64 last December and made a further similar attempt eight days later.

She had just been made the subject of a drug treatment and testing order when her crime spree began, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

Dawson, 24, of Beach Road, South Shields, admitted handling and deception charges. Sentence was adjourned.

Drugs jailing

A HEROIN addict has been jailed after being caught in an undercover operation with cocaine worth pounds 15,000 on the streets.

Liam Cummings ran off, discarding the drugs, as police officers moved in to search him after he was dropped off by car outside his home.

Cummings, 24, of Aldershot Road, Farringdon, Sunderland, was jailed for 18 months yesterday after he admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply. …
