Woman's Body May Have Been There for Days

A murder-style inquiry was under way last night after the body of a young woman was found in her North-East home.

Police confirmed the 29-year-old's body was found in her bungalow in The Brooms, Ouston, County Durham.

Forensic experts sealed off the home yesterday, to carry out a fingertip search, while officers interviewed residents nearby. Last night neighbour Tracy Coyle, 39, a mother-of-one, said: "I opened the curtains to see police everywhere in the street. The bungalow was completely sealed off with tape. Forensic officers in suits and covers on their feet have been in and out all day.

"There has been no sign of her for the last three or so days, but her lights have been on, so the body may have been there for a while."

Last night Durham Police confirmed that they were treating the death as suspicious. The body of the woman was discovered at around midnight on Thursday.

It was taken away from the property at around 11am yesterday. …
