The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has made little progress in finding who vandalized 26 Pepsi vending machines at Bartram Trail High School twice during a 48-hour period in April.

Since then, Pepsi has not replaced the damaged machines and the county's vending contract has come up for renewal, though school district officials and Pepsi Bottling Group remain tight-lipped about negotiations.

Police reports said the vending machines were vandalized during the weekend of April 23-25 at the school. Police said the vandals caused an estimated $44,000 in damage and stole $544 from the machines.

Property crime investigator Sgt. Christine Lee said the security video has not provided enough detail to announce a suspect in the investigation.

"As far as I am aware, the video was of such poor quality we can't identify anybody that was in it," Lee said. "At this point, we don't have any suspects or any new information on the case. …
