Blessing Given to Business Park's Pounds 45m New Direction

Plans to bring 1,000 jobs and pounds 45m of investment to the former Samsung site near Billingham on Teesside have been welcomed by public bodies.

Representatives from One NorthEast, English Partnerships, Stockton Council and Tees Valley Regeneration have visited the site ( now renamed Wynyard One ( to hear about progress to date.

Development plans that will bring 1,000 potential jobs to the site were approved last April when Stockton Council's planning committee lifted a planning condition. This paved the way for a more diverse redevelopment, to include non-electrical businesses and so let Wynyard Ltd press ahead with its plans.

Chris Musgrave, managing director of the company behind the scheme Wynyard Ltd, said the support of the region's regeneration bodies was appreciated. He said: "One NorthEast, English Partnerships, Stockton Council and Tees Valley Regeneration can all see the huge potential of the site for businesses and the real positive economic impact it will have on the region when fully developed. …
