Employers Urged to Help Young with Real Aspiration

More employers are being urged to sign up to the North-East's Aspire campaign to boost young people's awareness of the region's job opportunities.

The North-East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) is calling on other employers to follow its lead and provide practical backing to the culture-change campaign.

As one of the original architects of Aspire, together with the CBI, the NECC is now pledging to spread a positive message about job opportunities in the region, showcase its organisation to young people through the Aspire website, and nominate a young leader to work with the campaign.

Executive director of Aspire, Deborah Carrington, said: "As one of the original supporters of the campaign, it is great to see the chamber leading by example.

"Their pledge demonstrates exactly the type of practical backing we need from organisations across the region if we are to achieve our ambitious targets of recruiting at least 2,000 organisations over five years. …
