A desperate family split between three houses have pleaded with council bosses to re-home them.

Stockton couple Ian and Caroline Green applied for a new home in March when the landlord of their privately-rented property decided to sell up.

Since then they say they have been offered only a bedsit so have had to divide themselves between the homes of family.

Ian and Caroline and their oldest son Robert, 12, have been staying with Ian's grandmother in Roseworth while their seven-year-old daughter Ashleigh is staying with an auntie at a different address in Roseworth.

Their second son Daniel, nine, is staying with grandparents in Billingham.

He is autistic and the couple feel the disruption may halt his progress at school.

Mr Green said: "He cries every morning and I have to walk him to the school door.

"His anxiety levels are getting to the point where he has to go to see the doctor." Mr Green was also unimpressed by the bedsit accommodation offered. …
