GRADUATES

Danielle Rae Felton of Mandarin graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor's degree in justice studies.

John Wesley Strickland of Mandarin graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor's degree in construction management.

Jennifer Love Tucker of the Southside graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor's degree in public relations.

Renee Elizabeth McInarnay of the Westside graduated from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Miss., with a bachelor of science degree.

Zach Cauthen Lever graduated summa cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in business economics. Lever is the son of Martha and Chauncey Lever of the Southside.

Christine Michelle Pezzutti graduated cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in French. Pezzutti is the daughter of Mary Rose and William Pezzutti of Mandarin.

HONORS AND AWARDS

Rachel Norse of Arlington has been awarded a $500 honorable-mention scholarship from InVEST. The education program awards scholarships to students who plan to pursue higher education with an emphasis on the insurance industry. Students are chosen based on essay quality, grade point average, extracurricular activities and college entrance exam scores.

Norse graduated this year from Terry Parker High School and works part-time at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. She plans to earn her associate's degree from Florida Community College at Jacksonville and transfer to the University of Central Florida to complete her bachelor's degree.

Vanessa Candela of Arlington has been named to the President's Honor Roll at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Students must achieve a 4.0 grade point average for the semester to qualify for this honor.

Erin Maas, a student at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., has been inducted into Alpha Psi Omega, the national theater honor society. …
