Community Notebook; School District Sets Up Meetings to Discuss Hiring Superintendant

The Duval County School District has scheduled a series of meetings to gather input on choosing a new school superintendent. Community groups and individuals are invited to attend these meetings with representatives of Ray and Associates, the firm conducting the search.

The meetings will be at eight sites Wednesday, July 6; Thursday, July 7; and Friday, July 8. The meetings closest to Mandarin and Southside include: 2 p.m. July 6 at the Cline Auditorium at the Duval County school administration building, 1701 Prudential Drive; and 7 p.m. July 6 at Sandalwood High School, 2750 John Prom Blvd., and Wolfson High School, 7000 Powers Ave. A meeting will also be held at 10 a.m. July 8 at the district administration building at 1701 Prudential Drive.

Printed surveys are also available in the front office of the schools where the community meetings will be held, as well as in the lobby of the district administration building. They should be returned by Wednesday, July 13.
