THE FINAL victim of the London bombings was today named as Mala Trivedi, a radiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Police last night formally identified the medic, who had dedicated her life to helping children. She died in the bomb at King's Cross.

Her husband Ashok was too upset to speak about his loss last night at their home in Wembley. A spokeswoman for Great Ormond Street said: "Mala Trivedi played a crucial role in the hospital. She was a very well-liked and popular member of staff and we are all very sad at her death."

It came as an inquest opened into the death of Ateeque Sharifi, 24, who was also formally named yesterday as another victim of the Piccadilly line bombing. The young Muslim had been returning from spending a night with friends when he was caught in the blast.

Mr Sharifi fled to London from Afghanistan three years ago after his parents were killed by the Taliban. He was 21, and had been the only male in his family to escape death. …
