KATE MOSS appears determined to put quite some distance between herself and Pete Doherty after dumping the troubled rocker at the weekend.

There was no sign of the bad-boy frontman of Babyshambles when Moss went flat-hunting in New York yesterday with her twoyearold daughter, Lila Grace, and two two young male friends.

She was looking at properties in the fashionable meat packing district in Manhattan before heading for a photo shoot at Pier 59 Studios.

The 31- year- o ld model and Doherty, 26, who as a couple t o p p e d Most Invited list, were reported to have separated after he was beaten up in a drunken street brawl on Friday with a gang of teenagers.

The fight, in Kentish Town, was the last straw for Moss, who was already concerned about his drug abuse.

She is said to have told a friend: "I can't go on spending day and night worrying about Pete. He would disappear without a word and I would not hear from him for days. …
