Two sisters were trapped by a fold-away bed for four days as they slowly suffocated in a freak holiday accident, it emerged yesterday.

Last night, the full horror of their death was revealed to their families.

The couple arrived at the Levante Club apartments on Saturday July 30 and were seen in the resort the following day.

"Did they scream out for help when no one was there to hear?

"It is almost unbearable to think of, and we want answers."

Mrs Wardle's daughter Allison Gibbons, 40, and her family were also in Benidorm at the time of the accident and had arranged to meet the sisters on Sunday when they uncharacteristically failed to turn up.

Allison visited the apartments several times hoping to see the sisters.
