Put the Covers on My Heads Again My Son, Says Longmuir

Bill Longmuir will keep it in the family for his defence of the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open at the Roxburgh on August 26-28.

Last year, Longmuir had his son Callum, then 13, as his caddie and the father and son team proved to be an irresistible winning combination.

Callum has not caddied since, but Longmuir says he wants his eldest son back on the bag when the competition returns to the Roxburgh, near Kelso.

"Obviously any win is important, but the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open was special as my son caddied for me," said Longmuir.

"He has a positive attitude towards golf and it was refreshing to hear his words of encouragement," admitted a player with four European Seniors Tour titles to his name.

"Callum has not caddied for me since, but I have asked him to do it again this year. We had a particularly nice week last year. We stayed in the hotel at the course and my son and I went fishing in the evenings. …
