MICHAEL CARRICK has urged Sven-Goran Eriksson to give him another chance to shine with England.

The Tottenham midfielder was impressive on the summer tour to America and wants more action against Denmark in a friendly next week.

Carrick's recall to the England set-up followed nearly four years of being overlooked by the Swede and has raised his hopes of earning a place in next year's squad for Germany.

The 24-year-old said: "The World Cup is at the back of my mind now and I don't think it would have been if I had not gone to America. To get two games under my belt with England was good experience.

"I am looking for a bit more action now.

I would hope to be included for the next friendly and if I get in the squad I would be delighted."

Eriksson names his squad for Denmark tomorrow night but Carrick's team-mate Ledley King is out of contention because of a groin strain which has already forced him out of Tottenham's game at Portsmouth tomorrow. …
