Police Briefs; Chinese Restaurant Delivery Driver Robbed at Gunpoint

A delivery driver for Hot Wok, 47 University Blvd. N., told police he was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to make a delivery at 9:40 p.m. Monday.

The 43-year-old victim said as he approached the delivery site, an apartment in the 800 block of Alderman Road, he was confronted by three men who pointed guns at him. They ordered him to put his hands on a wall and lie face-down on a sidewalk, according to a police report.

The victim said the suspects asked where the money was and he told them it was in the car. The victim said the suspects took an undetermined amount of money and said, "The only reason we didn't shoot you, pops, is because you are black." The suspect placed the driver's keys beside him on the ground and fled, the report said. They are still at large.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested at 8 p.m. Monday at Dillard's, 9501 Arlington Expressway, and charged with grand theft retail.

Police said the store's loss prevention officers said they saw the woman take about 30 clothing items out of the store by going into a dressing room with a baby stroller, wrapping the items in a baby blanket and taking them out of the store in the stroller. …
