Skipper Jav Ramzan has seen his team's fortunes soar in a memorable season.

The Omar Khayyam captain has led his side to two trophies and a runners-up spot.

And to add to the summer of success, some members of the team also play for NYSD Premier Division side Normanby Hall, who won the Macmillan Cup.

"We were formed around 12 years ago, and had won nothing until this season, though we had been runners-up four times in the Midweek League Challenge Cup, until finally winning it this season," said Jav.

Talib Ramzan shone with the ball in the Challenge Cup, snapping up an impressive 5-23 as Jap Parts were bowled out for 96 in response to Omar Khayyam's 156-4.

Ahmed (53no), and Ditta (42) set up MSV's 132-2 before their bowlers got on top of McKenna, who struggled to 111-7.

Jap Parts restricted JMG Joiners to 83-9 of which Benfield hit 40. Rogers (4-13) and Tahir (3-11) were the top bowlers. Jap Parts won comfortably to finish the season as runners-up on runs per wicket.

Omar Khayyam hit 122-2 at home to Azaad with Rashid making 47. In reply, Sheperd (34) and Bilal (33) set up the chase to reach 123-4.

Stafford Place made 138-6 when visiting Pot & Glass. Fawcett (42) led the chase as Pot & Glass completed their third win in as many weeks to complete the great escape and see Azaad relegated. …
